Recap: What recap? I guess we could go all the way back to LAST SEASON, if we absolutely must (and the 174-148 season and playoff combined record is nothing to scoff at, especially considering that after November 22, that mark was an even-more-impressive 142-107). But, that's the past, and this is now. It's time to see how this wild offseason plays itself out! Today: First, listen to the SEASON PREVIEW PODCAST HERE... Read more

Opening Remarks: It's NBA time! It's NBA time! Whoopee! This blog is meant to serve as, largely, a reminder of everything that different teams have done (or not done), and also a guide to finding early-season betting value. You guys aren't stupid, so there's no reason to go over every offseason trade, draft pick, etc. Let's spend our time digging into whether a team is going to overachieve or underachieve, because... That's how I like to wrap up a winning week! Well, maybe not the MLB side, but certainly the NBA play. Yesterday ended up as a largely profitable day by the evening! We started slowly, dropping a 1* MLB Totals play on the Orioles-Blue Jays "Over." The Orioles had a number of opportunities to scratch across runs, which would have helped us to a winner, but a large strike zone from home plate umpire Angel Hernandez... Read more

No Graduation Day jitters for this guy! Tee-hee. We'll tackle yesterday's recap in the order the games ended. We nailed a hair-raising MLB underdog on the 1* Baltimore Orioles +150 to get off the snide in MLB. We did get a little lucky with Jeff Niemann getting nailed with a line drive, but Baltimore got a couple key hits with runners on base, built a lead, and squeaked out a tough winner. The next game to end... Read more

We're knee deep in combo-sport style after just one day with three plays going in the books yesterday. Our TOP PLAY was an easy winner on the Charlotte Bobcats, who stormed out to a 20-point lead against the Hawks, and despite giving Atlanta some life, the cover was never really in jeopardy. At the time, that moved our NBA run to 13-4, and 5-0 since Saturday. The next play to finish was our Free NBA selection on... Read more

Anthony Morrow! I mean, I thought the Warriors would handle the Knicks, but I was pretty pleased with Morrow dominating the 4th quarter! We went 2-1 last night, but hit our BIG play, so a damn fine day, and more profit for the week! Time is short on weekends, but it's very important for us to take one moment to check out our games. We discussed the Play of the Week hit on Golden State, and I'll give the Knicks credit... Read more

We're still a few wins away from being "hot," but that easy coast-to-coast winner with Orlando last night certainly bumps us one notch above "warm" to a temperature that I like to call "quite warm." As far as leans go, we made our play on the Magic to take advantage of rested legs, and they slowly wore the Mavs down in a game that featured a great defensive effort, and also stayed under the total. Once again, Orlando... Read more

A slight regression back to "lukewarm" for this blog, but a big Wednesday on the horizon, so we could potentially leapfrog warm with a strong day. Yesterday, we dropped a clunker on the Sixers, who just got mauled by the sweet-shooting Thunder. Bad call by me, as at this stage of the season, the Thunder were clearly not looking ahead to the Celtics today, and they absolutely rained in shots from the perimeter. Those... Read more

Two years ago I uttered the following phrase: "It will be a cold day in Hell before I ever give props to Tracy McGrady." Last night, Hell got a light breeze, as our Paid Play on the Knicks came in strong, thanks in large part to T-Mac's potent offensive numbers against the tired, undermanned Pistons. So, Tracy, nice job. Also worth noting, I think, is our recent run of success on games involving the Pistons.... Read more
